Unearthing The Undead 02 - ROY CHEVERIE

Roy played a posse member in the film and can be spotted in the posse scenes, crossing the field during the helicopter landing shot, and in the background as News Reporter Bill Cardille gives Sheriff George Kosana a cup of coffee.  Night of the Living Dead was not

Roy's only role in a George Romero film.  He also played the abortion doctor in "There's Always Vanilla" and one of the army doctors that gets infected in "The Crazies".  He also played the chief engineer working at Joyful Novelties in the Rudy Ricci / John Russo film "The Liberation of Cherry Jankowski" a.k.a "The Booby Hatch".

Roy at the time was known by his professional name of Bob Stevens.  By 1968/1969 he was doing the 12am to 5am show on KQV, then signed WZUM 1590 AM from 6am to 10am.  He continued to work in radio till 1973.  Around that time, Roy wanted to take acting more seriously and decided to start using his real name.  He had a bit part in "Serpico" passing by Al Pacino, as well as an extra in the Barbra Streisand / Robert Redford film "The Way We Were".  

He decided to relocate to New York City to pursue acting.  The last known role he's credited in is "Saturday Night Fever" as the wrong dance partner (as per John Travolta's character Tony), dancing on that famous light up dance floor with Stephanie.
