Unearthing The Undead 12 - PAUL COFFMAN

Paul Coffman was a police officer that appeared in Night of the Living Dead.

He can be seen throughout the film during the posse scenes.  Mostly not too far from Sheriff McClellan (George Kosana).

He also is seen at the very end of the movie when Vince Survinski shoots into the house.

Paul was born on June 29, 1929 in Pittsburgh, to the late George Coffman and Mary (Wilson) Bowman.  Paul served his country in active duty as a First Sergeant in the Army beginning towards the end of WWII, and then in combat in Korea.  He also was a member of the National Guard.  Paul worked as a conductor for the Mon-Con Railroad, then went on to be a police officer with the Forest Hills Police Department.

Paul was an active member of the Community United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed being a door greeter and participated in Bible study, and he volunteered at the Light of Life Mission. Paul was also a member of the Irwin Country club, achieving an official hole-in-one on their golf course.

"Paul served in the Army during the Korean War.  He loved being a soldier, joining at age 16. He then served as a police officer for Forest Hills, Allegheny County, retiring as a Sgt. after 32 years.  He also was co-founder of Rescue 8 Ambulance service.  Paul was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling. He passed away on June 8, 2020 at the age of 90. He enjoyed being in the movie."
