Unearthing The Undead 13 - JERRY COMUNALE
Jerry Comunale was a posse member in Night of the Living Dead. He can be seen in the shot of the posse walking down the road and walking across the field, as well as when Bill Cardille hands Sheriff McClelland his coffee. At the time he was acting at the Pittsburgh Playhouse.
Jerry was born in Pittsburgh on August 23, 1947. Jerry was one of three children to the late Lillian (DiNapoli) and Genre J. Comunale, Sr. Jerry married the love of his life, Alexis Del Fiacco, on May 30, 1986 and recently celebrated thirty-seven beautiful years together. A graduate of Serra Catholic, he obtained a Bachelor of English and Theater degree from Point Park College. Teaching was a personal fulfillment in his life and he continued his passion for acting and theater when he became the founder and artistic director of Camelot Productions in Bloomfield. Jerry loved performing, singing, acting, and coaching young people. He also was blessed as an acting coach for Quaker Valley Musicals. God blessed Jerry with a beautiful singing voice, and he used that talent as a cantor at St. James Church for over 30 years at the Saturday evening 4:30 PM Mass. He was an avid football fan and sports enthusiast. Central Catholic was at the the top of his list for enjoying a good high school football game. He also followed college basketball and in his spare time, one could find him completing the New York Times crossword puzzle - in ink. For over 30 years, Jerry was a sales executive for both Exhibit Group/Giltspur and Derse Exhibits, Inc.
